Stainless Steel Sheets, Plate and Coil Weight, Dimensions Chart in mm, kg, PDF online
Stainless Steel Sheets:
Stainless steel sheet metal is less likely to discolour, corrode, or rust than carbon steel. A stainless
steel sheet is widely sought-after metal for applications needing a durable metal with favourable
anti-oxidation rates due to its enhanced strength, impact resistance, anti-bacterial characteristics,
and aesthetic appeal. The Stainless Steel Sheets dimensions can be measured in mm, kg units.
Stainless steel comes in all kinds of grades and surface treatments to suit a wide range of
applications. Stainless steel is mostly employed when both steel mechanical characteristics and
corrosion resistance are required.
Stainless steel is used in different sectors, including Aerospace, Automotive, General Engineering, Oil &
Gas, High Tech, and Medical. The dimensions of Stainless Steel Sheets, Plates and Coils in Dimensions
Chart are in mm, kg.
There are several grades of stainless steel, each having a unique combination of iron, chromium, nickel,
and other metals that give them their unique features and characteristics. The 300 series stainless
steel sheets are the most common stainless steel used. The Type 304 (also known as 18/8 or A2) stainless
steel grade is the most often used in domestic and industrial applications like food processing
equipment, screws, machinery parts, and external architectural features. Sheets dimensions can be
converted from mm to inches. For detailed measurements, refer to dimensions chart below.
Stainless Steel Plates:
Stainless steel plates came out in the early 20th century and have a history of over a century.
Stainless steel plate has many advantages, such as: smooth surface, high plasticity, toughness and
mechanical strength, corrosion resistance of acids, alkaline gases, solutions and other medium. It is an
alloy steel that is not easy to rust, but it is not rust-free. Stainless steel plate weight dimensions
is measured in kg. Stainless steel plate is used as a general term for stainless steel plate and
acid-resistant steel plate. Stainless steel plate refers to steel plate resistant to corrosion by weak
medium such as atmosphere, steam and water, while acid-resistant steel plate refers to steel plate
resistant to corrosion by chemical corrosive medium such as acid, alkali and salt.
There are varieties of stainless steel plates and steel plates with different properties. It has slowly
formed several categories in the development process. The main chemical composition or some typical
elements in the steel plate are classified into chromium stainless steel plate, chromium nickel
stainless steel plate, chromium nickel molybdenum stainless steel plate and low carbon stainless steel
plate, high molybdenum stainless steel plate, high purity stainless steel plate, etc. The commonly used
classification method is based on the structural characteristics of the stainless steel plate and the
chemical composition of the stainless steel plate, as well as the combination of the two. It has a wide
range of uses. Typical uses are heat exchangers for pulp and papermaking equipment, mechanical
equipment, dyeing equipment, film washing equipment, pipelines, exterior materials for buildings in
coastal areas, etc. For detailed measurements, refer to dimensions chart below.
Stainless Steel Coils:
Stainless steel coils are one of the most required raw materials in the construction and manufacturing
sector. It also finds used broadly in the production of industrial hardware owing to its distinct
mechanical and physical properties. Strong, corrosion-proof, lightweight and require low maintenance,
they are also adjustable and can be easily made into a range of designs. Stainless steel coils are
manufactured using hot rolling stainless steel slabs in a reheat furnace at a certain high temperature
between 1,100° C to 1,300° C depending on the steel grade used for the manufacturing process. After
continuously heating and rolling n the mills, the product is coiled. Finally, the stainless steel coils
are made to have softer and brighter surface finish by passing them through the annealing and pickling
lines. Stainless steel Coils dimensions chart are measured in mm, kg. Stainless steel is divided
into several types and each type is further divided into grades and series. The steel grade defines what
type of steel and its composition and properties. While the grades reflect the specific alloy’s
toughness, quality and temperature resistance, the numbers listed after the grade refer to its chemical
composition, especially the chromium and nickel percentages. It plays an important role for customers to
determine their requirement.
The most widely used grades of steel are the 200 series, 300 series, 400 series and duplex series.
Moreover, 304, 304L, 316 and 316L stainless steel coils are the most popular and profitable grades of
stainless steels. For detailed measurements, refer to dimensions chart below.
